The clay is pushed into the gaps in the pumice, and layered on as thick as we could manage. We left the area around the door and chimney relatively free for Rosalie to deal with later.

One of the first door fittings, we would recommend a chainsaw for this sort of activity! Oh and we soaked the wood for an hour or so before we put it in for real.

Our first pizza cooking in the oven. Took about 3 minutes to cook. We had pushed the coals to the back rather than remove them, so it needed turning.
