Katipo Project Survival Kit

LostArtChch.org.nz launched to help save or recover art effected by the Christchurch earthquake

8 March 2011

A new site to help preserve art in Christchurch at risk after the 2011 earthquake.

Hamish Keith describes the project:

"If you have works of art, antiques or other cultural valuables at risk in Christchurch you can record them here. Just a brief description of the works and where they are and what state you think the building is in and whether you have access or not."

This information will then be made available to recovery operations.

Katipo has provided hosting and development for the site that uses the Kete open source software to securely record the information collected by its users.

The site is available at http://lostartchch.org.nz/. Please spread the word to those in Christchurch and Canterbury, New Zealand.
