Excellence Award In the Bag

29 June 2004

Award in a bagWe've won a Computerworld Excellence Award. Rosalie Blake from Horowhenua Library Trust entered our recent work on Koha and their other Member Services in the category for "Excellence in the use of IT in a Not For Profit Organisation".

The awards were presented at a glitzy dinner ceremony in Auckland on Friday 25 June. The judges commented that the Horowhenua Library Trust Koha system stood out as a winning entry because of its breadth of reach and push beyond conventional library systems. "The ease of access to the knowledge base created through this initiative and its ability to be reached by all the people of Horowhenua, is improving the intellectual wealth of the region."

Rosalie BlakeThe Library Trust was a joint winner of the Excellence in the Use of IT in a Not for Profit Organisation Award with Carers New Zealand. The Trust together with Wellington-based Katipo Communications designed and implemented Koha, the world's first open source library management system.
