N ews Maddogs and Chris descend on Dunedin
31 January 2006As posted previously, Chris Cormack, our Lead Programmer, was attending and presenting at the fist Linux.conf.au to be held outside Australia. Chris not only got Katipo and himself mentioned in a number of articles he also managed to get himself on TV!
In an article in the Otago Daily Times he is pictured alongside such illustrious company as Linus Torvalds, the founder of the Linux operating system, and John "Mad Dog" Hall, Executive Director of Linux International. Chris said he thoroughly enjoyed the 4 day event and in between being plied with beer from the likes of Google and flying around in a helicopter with Mark Shuttleworth, he was kept busy answering questions from delegates. It was reported that his presentation was well attended and that his was the most "interrupted" talk at the conference, which we take to mean they were listening and they were interested!Whilst there Chris learnt that another organisation had taken up Koha to run their library - the NSW Judicial Commission. For a run through of many of the presentations see Don Christie's well written daily blog at: Blog And if interested also the articles featured in ComputerWorld: Article 1 Article 2 |
