Chris Speaking at Australian Linux Conference in Dunedin

8 January 2006

Our very own Chris Cormack will be speaking at the next Australian Linux conference in January. It is being held in New Zealand at the University of Otago, Dunedin from the 23rd - 28th January.

It is the seventh annual conference and every year it gets bigger and more popular, attracting many high profile speakers and well known Linux and Open Source Developers.

Chris will be presenting on Wednesday 25th January at 2.45pm. The topic is: From New Zealand to Bolivia, the Koha Library system flies.

Chris will chat about who Katipo Communications are and why Koha was developed. He will then talk about why it was released under the GPL, how it's grown, the challenges we have encountered, and where to from here.

We highly recommend attending the conference if you can.

There are mini conferences on first, where one of our Alumni - Douglas Bagnall is organising one on Digital Art. There are two sessions on the Upstage software he wrote.
